Dear Fellow Auto Enthusiast,
Thanks for taking the time to check out the Premier Edition of Blue Collar Muscle Rods & Custom’s newsletter. We have assembled some of the best mechanics, technicians, and fabricators to bring high quality restorations, custom builds, and upgrades to your favorite set of wheels.
In case you missed our first ad in this month’s “GOODGUYS GAZETTE” magazine, let me tell you what we’re all about.
We know that there are a lot of great shops out there, but I have found it very difficult for a guy (or gal) with a limited budget to get a high quality job. The only thing that I like more than cruising my own cars is to see the look on another car nut’s face when they see their dream vehicle become a reality. My desire is to help you make your dream come true by cruising down the road to your favorite coffee shop or car show. We work with clients with budgets of all sizes from suspension and brake upgrades to ground up builds.
Michigan experienced a mild winter and excavation started in January followed by setting of the posts and header panels. Construction was delayed by the coronavirus but is starting back up this week.
We are building a brand new 20,000 sq. ft. facility devoted to custom car and restoration work. The shop is divided in half, one side for clean assembly work and the other side for welding, fabrication, and body repair.
Here is a rendering of the assembly side compared to the current phase of construction. At the back of the rendering you can see the mezzanine hiding most of the stairs. On the mezzanine is a full bathroom, a mini kitchen, entertainment area with a TV, and the shop’s office. Under the mezzanine is the shop’s break/lunch area, with another mini kitchen, a large table, and a half bathroom. To the left of the break area is the customer entrance and in this area I will park a car that is on display. What car shop doesn’t have a car to greet visitors to the shop? From the mezzanine up to the second floor is 3200 sq. ft. of parts storage where each client’s project will have a series of shelves to store, inventory, and keep safe all of the parts needed for their project.
Here is the rendering of the fabrication side. This construction is all new and not as far along as the other side. The paint booth will only be used for painting. This side also features two rooms where we will do all of the welding and grinding. Each room features exhaust fans that will pull the dust out of the building so it doesn’t settle on everything.
In each newsletter I will share something from my own experience that will differentiate us from other shops. This month consider:
Photos are sent to the client at lunchtime and at the end of the day, each day we are working on the project. Photo documentation is tied to invoicing. Some shops would never send you in-process photos because if they did, you would see what poor work they are doing to your car! If a shop doesn’t send you frequent photos, how do you know they are actually working on your car? Just because you receive a invoice does not mean that they are working on it! Don’t be taken advantage of by a shady shop.
At the end of the job, clients receive a scrapbook of all the photos taken over the course of the job. You will be proud to show others the quality of the work we did for you. Your vehicle is 100% sorted out before it is returned to you.
While we build our new shop, which will be completed this fall, we’d like to keep in touch. Thank you to all of the suppliers and vendors for your support and hard work in everything that you have done thus far. I look forward to our continued collaboration and friendship.
We will be sending out newsletters and updates from time to time to keep you posted. In the meantime, please feel free to offer any feedback and let us know how we can make your Muscle Car, Rod, or Custom build dreams a reality.
Let us show you what we can do!
Sincerely,
Eric Meyer
