August 2020 Newsletter
Dear Fellow Auto Enthusiast,
Welcome to the August newsletter of Blue Collar Muscle Rods & Custom.  Last month I shared with you progress on the mezzanine, wiring, interior framing, siding, floor paint, plumbing, and HVAC.  August was a good month with significant progress.  The following words and photos will detail much of what has been completed.  This month progress was made on the siding, drywall, floor paint, HVAC, and plumbing.  The electrical, mechanical, and plumbing rough inspections occurred and all passed.  The wiring for the telephone, TV’s, internet, cell phone booster, burglar, fire protection, and CCTV were all completed.
The first area of progress I want to share with you is the construction crew finished the exterior siding.  There’s not alot I can say about this except that with this step completed, the building is really taking on a finished look and it looks great.  There are 5 picture windows that need to be installed and the overhead doors will be installed after the drywall has trimmed each door opening since the door hardware is fastened on top of the drywall to give a more finished look.
The next area is the drywall has started going up.  The first area the crew focused on is the second floor storage.  This area has minimal electrical which made it simple to tackle first.  Plus, the drywall in this area needed to be done prior to the insulation crew.  There are two rooms upstairs each 20’x80′ with a 8′ side wall.  There will be three rows of shelves and two aisles where all of the parts for each client’s car will be stored safely from the action going on in the shop.
The epoxy floor is the owners contribution to the project and I prepped and painted 4500 square feet finishing the area that I started last month.  The paint is a 2 part epoxy from Benjamin Moore.
This group of photos shows progress on the HVAC that will heat and cool the shop.  The furnace vents are through the end walls or through the roof.  The large furnaces are high efficiency and the vents are run through PVC and a innovative design allows the furnace combustion air and exhaust to run through a double wall vent shown in the last photo.
This last group of photos buttons up the water and compressed air line plumbing.  I wanted hose connections on the exterior of the shop and one located under the patio will have hot and cold water so we can clean and detail cars during the colder months.  Rapid Air is a manufacturer of compressed air line systems and was recommended by a friend.  The last photo shows the blue compressed air lines running along the top of and down the wall.  The air lines coming down from the ceiling will be surface mounted and terminate in a distribution block that will allow up to four compressed air outlets.  The shop has a total of 21 locations for a compressed air hookup.
Last month I shared some information that will differentiate us from other shops.  This month consider:

Your car is stored inside the shop the entire time it is in our possession.

We insure your car while it is in our possession with the garage keepers portion of our insurance.

We don’t assume you have more money to spend beyond what you have told us what your budget is.

We discuss a plan so you have a driveable vehicle, not something half finished and unusable.
While we build our new shop, we’d like to keep in touch.  Please like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BlueCollarMuscleRods/ and check our webpage for the gallery of construction photos and videos by clicking on the ‘TAKE A SHOP TOUR” button, https://bluecollarmusclerods.com

Thank you to all of the suppliers and vendors for your support and hard work in everything that you have done thus far.  I look forward to our continued collaboration and friendship.

We will be sending out newsletters and updates from time to time to keep you posted. In the meantime, please feel free to offer any feedback and let us know how we can make your Muscle Car, Rod, or Custom build dreams a reality.

Let us show you what we can do!

Sincerely,
Eric Meyer
