November 2020 Newsletter
Dear Fellow Auto Enthusiast,
Welcome to the November newsletter of Blue Collar Muscle Rods & Custom.  Last month I shared with you progress on the drywall, painting, well, parts storage area, and concrete.  November was another good month with significant progress.  The following words and photos will detail much of what has been completed.  This newsletter details progress on the lighting installation, mezzanine flooring and cabinets, break area cabinets, overhead doors, HVAC ducting, interior doors, finishing of the stairs with permanent treads and risers, and a bit more concrete.  The interior is really taking shape and planned to complete in December.  I will be moving projects into the shop soon and contacting those that I have talked to about having work done to your vehicle.  Join us on our Facebook page as the construction phase comes to a close and we start working on cars and trucks very soon.
The first area of progress I am most excited to tell you about.  The electricians started installing the interior lighting and so far it looks amazing!  The first two photos are of the assembly side of the shop taken from each side.  The third photo is the fabrication end.  Each of these areas of the shop use high bay LED lighting and my camera’s auto settings tone the light down.  These areas are very bright and will be conducive to the type of work we will be doing.  The last photo is taken at the door of the customer entrance looking towards the shops break area.  The lights in this area are round LED’s but the light is not as white as the high bay lights and a good choice for the light needed in these areas.  If you have an opportunity to visit the shop, look around the walls and notice the number of switches used to control all of the lighting.
The next area of progress was on the mezzanine and break area.  The first two photos show the installation of the mezzanine flooring.  I picked a gray laminate that goes well with the blue wall.  The third photo shows the cabinets.  I picked this style to offer a nice contrast and the fourth photo shows this contrast carried to the bathroom door.  Also notice the temporary lighting in the third photo was replaced with the permanent lighting in the fourth photo.  The last photo shows the cabinets and counter top in the break area.  The refrigerator will be located to the right of the cabinets in both of these areas.
This group of photos shows the overhead doors installed. The first two photos show the glass customer entrance door and the glass overhead door.  I’ll park something really cool behind this door and change the vehicle from time to time.  The third photo shows three 16×7 doors in a row but the neat thing here is these doors go up vertically and stay close to the wall instead of opening parallel to the floor.  The last two photos show how several of the doors will look from the exterior of the shop.  Also notice in the fourth photo, two new picture windows.
The concrete guys continue to chip away at the exterior concrete.  In this group of photos they are pouring the approach to a new overhead door and a set of stairs to an existing storage building.  The retaining wall changed the direction of foot traffic to the storage building and the stairs solved that issue.
This last group of photos will show you several things.  The first two photos show the HVAC ducts that the HVAC guys custom designed to fit close to the wall and ceiling.  The next two photos show several of the interior doors mounted in their openings.  The double glass french doors are going to look amazing.  The last photo shows the permanent stair treads and risers.  The construction crew is doing a nice job here keeping everything tight to the walls on both sides.
