Welcome to the February/March newsletter of Blue Collar Muscle Rods & Custom. The shop has had no shortage of activity and we have 15 customer cars in-house now. This level of activity surprised me a bit and I have been chasing parts and equipment at the detriment of the February newsletter. It’s exciting to watch the shop take off and I am truly humbled by the level of trust the car owners have put in us. So without delay, let’s get to it.
Here’s a rusty area on the rear wheelwell of the 1976 Olds Cutlass. We cut this rusty metal out, sandblasted the metal underneath, used a commercial product containing phosphoric acid to further clean and etch the metal, then we paint that area, and hand form the repair panel in the right photo and weld it in. The easy route is fill the area with plastic body filler but the rust hasn’t been stopped. We fix it right.
